Daily Bread

Give us this day our daily bread. (Matt. 6:11 KJV)

Daily we ask God to “Give, Give, Give.” We never seem satisfied with what we have. We just keep wanting more. If we are always asking for more, when do we take the time to appreciate what we already have? When do we stop and say, “Lord, thank you for your provisions; Lord, thank you for supplying my needs thus far; I know you have more for me, but I’m so grateful for what I have right now?”

The bible tells us to be content with what we have. But contentment seems to be the furthest thing from our minds. We’re constantly chasing after things, not understanding that God can give us things. Our focus should just be on Him.

Remember the murmurs and complaints of the children of Israel in the book of Exodus? How they said they would have rather stayed in bondage than die of hunger in the wilderness. God heard their murmurs and provided them with daily bread (manna). This is the same God that we serve today. He will give you exactly what you need, when you need it.

In the meantime, celebrate where you are and look forward to what’s ahead.

Lord, I thank you for my “Daily Bread”.

Be Blessed Always,
