Father, If thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. (Luke 22:42 KJV)
I often think of Jesus at this moment as he’s praying in the garden. I imagine the amount of emotion that is sweeping over him as he meditates on his destiny and those who follow him. And although he knows the pain and suffering that he is about to endure, he remains humble to the will of God. He basically says that as much as he would like for this this situation to not come upon him, it’s not about him, but it’s about God’s will being done. The selflessness that he portrays is simply amazing.
To think, He did this for you. He loved you so much that he chose to endure the pain and suffering so that you wouldn’t have to. He wanted you to have an abundant life, so he died. If only we could be so selfless. If only we could humble ourselves and say, “God, your will be done in my life.”
What is God asking of you? Whatever it is, “Let it be done”, In Jesus Name!
Be Blessed
